Pretty simply, EXALLO is a fashion accessories company (or startup – whichever you prefer), from Greece, that makes use of the wood and materials that nature discards, and produces wooden bow ties, cufflings and phone cases.
We met online. Or better yet, they discovered me via my Unsplash profile. If you don’t know what Unsplash is then Google is your friend. In any case, they used a couple of my (copyright free) photographs on their Instagram and we started talking. Soon enough (after 3 DMs) they figured out I was Greek and we took it to Skype.
The idea was simple. Their products evolve around wood, I am surrounded by nature. It’s a win-win. They were kind enough to provide me with some cases for my OnePlus 3 mobile phone. Including one that features the logo I use on my YouTube channel.
From the packaging, to the service and the quality of the product, EXALLO is really hit that out of the ballpark. The one thing that will stay with me (probably forever) was the moment I opened up the mail package, and I was overwhelmed from the smell of the wood. It was insane. I am pretty sure that’s exactly how their workshop smells.
What I almost forgot to mention is who is behind EXALLO. That’s Charalabos and Leonidas Souras, brothers in “crime” and in real life. If you like what they do and want to support their “natural” idea, check their website and shoot them an email (or two). Their philosophy is simple: take a “dead” material and transform it into a useful object, honoring the intrinsic uniqueness and beauty of the substance and the wearer alike.
